Help! Medi-Cal and Medicare at Risk for Budget Cuts
This is from AAA (Area Agency on Aging)
Hello Senior Centers,
We are currently seeking stories from older adults and people with disabilities who rely on Medi-Cal. We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who can share how essential their Medi-Cal coverage is. Here are some examples of stories we are seeking:
- A dually eligible individual on both Medi-Cal and Medicare, who relies on Medi-Cal for coverage of services such as IHSS (In-Home Supportive Services), vision, dental, hearing, or long-term care.
- An older adult or person with a disability on ACA expansion Medi-Cal, who has not yet reached Medicare eligibility (e.g., someone around age 60).
- A caregiver of an older adult or person with a disability who benefits from Medi-Cal coverage.
If you have clients, patients, or community members who would be willing to share their story, please have them contact Yasmin Peled at Justice in Aging at ypeled@justiceinaging.org.
Thank you for your support in this important effort. If you have any questions or need further details, please feel free to reach out.
